Knocklayde Mountain

Knocklayde mountain towers above Ballycastle at 514 metres and can be seen for miles around. I have climbed it a few times and the view is magnificent, details here. The best place to start is the entrance to Ballycastle forest on the Drumavoley Road (55.173403,-6.226727). Be prepared  for a steep climb lasting about 1 hour, not for the fainthearted and it can be cold up there so take a flask of tea and a compass as from the top it's difficult to get home in cloud cover!
